Cricket Milestones Reached on 11 September

The date has carried batting landmarks from opposite ends of a career. Jonny Bairstow brought up 3000 ODI runs against Australia in 2020, while Mohammad Hafeez reached 2000 ODI runs against Zimbabwe in 2011. Further back, Syed Kirmani brought up 1000 Test runs against Australia in 1979, the same fixture in which Allan Border reached 500 Test runs. Guy Whittall reached 500 Test runs against Sri Lanka in 1996, and Sam Billings, Ben Stokes and Sadagoppan Ramesh each brought up 500 ODI runs, in 2020, 2015 and 1999 respectively.

Bowlers reached notable tallies too. Ashish Nehra reached 100 ODI wickets against New Zealand in 2009, the same match in which Kyle Mills reached 150 ODI wickets. Venkatesh Prasad had reached 150 ODI wickets against West Indies a decade earlier, in 1999. Chaminda Vaas reached 50 Test wickets against Zimbabwe in 1996, Sohail Tanvir reached 50 ODI wickets against Zimbabwe in 2011, and in T20I cricket Haris Rauf reached 50 wickets in 2022 with Mohammad Hossain following in 2025 against Hong Kong.

Some milestones on this date mark earlier stages of a bowler's white ball career. Liam Livingstone reached 25 T20I wickets against Australia in 2024, Jofra Archer reached 25 ODI wickets against Australia in 2020, and Ravichandran Ashwin reached 25 ODI wickets against England in 2011. Kumar Dharmasena reached 25 Test wickets against Zimbabwe in 1996. In T20I batting, Pramod Rajapaksa brought up 500 runs against Pakistan in 2022, another marker of a career building through smaller, earlier thresholds rather than landmark hundreds or five-wicket hauls.
