Asia Cup Trophy Hand Over in Dubai
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has proposed a special ceremony in Dubai for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to receive the Asia Cup trophy. This invitation comes after India's requested handover post their significant win against Pakistan in the Asia Cup final earlier this month.
Key Details of the Ceremony
Reports indicate that the ACC has conveyed, “If you want the trophy, we can hold a ceremony where you can receive it.” This presentation is tentatively scheduled for the first week of November 2025, marking a notable event following India’s victory.
| Event | Date |

| Asia Cup Final | September 2025 |
| Trophy Ceremony Proposal | Early November 2025 |
Tensions Surrounding the Trophy
The trophy has been held at the ACC headquarters since the Indian team, under Suryakumar Yadav’s leadership, declined to accept it from ACC President Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as Pakistan’s Interior Minister. Their refusal followed a significant diplomatic tension during the Asia Cup 2025, especially after a terror attack in Pahalgam.
BCCI's Stand and Future Discussions
In light of the circumstances, the BCCI has garnered support from fellow ACC members, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. They have reportedly rejected the ACC’s offer to collect the trophy directly in Dubai, insisting the matter be addressed at the ICC level. This issue is expected to be a primary topic at the upcoming ICC meeting next month, presided over by former BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
An ACC source stated, “The BCCI secretary, along with ACC representatives and members from Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, has communicated with the ACC president regarding the trophy handover.” The response from the ACC stands firm, suggesting BCCI delegates visit Dubai to collect it, a proposal the BCCI has made clear they will oppose.
