 No opening ceremony for IPL-2019

In the wake of the Pulwama attack, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) has announced that there will be no opening ceremony in the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League. BCCI acting president CK Khanna, who had officially made the proposal to donate at least Rs 5 crore for the martyr's families. "I am very happy that CoA has taken a good call to donate the money for martyrs' families. Since the entire budget allocated for the IPL opening ceremony is being donated for a noble cause, the amount of is expected to be significantly more than Rs 5 crore," Khanna said. Last year IPL 2018's opening ceremony amount approx to 15 crore and they will donate similar amount to the CRPF Jawan's families. IPL 12 will starts from 23rd march, CSK will take on RCB in the opening match at Chennai.
